Whenever you hear anybody talking about immigration reform, this is what it boils down to. Both parties would sell out America and the sacred birthright of Americans in their attempt to recruit newly legalized immigrants as voters. Of course only one party has any real chance of this. The Republicans are delusional in thinking that millions of formerly illegal immigrants will suddenly become conservative voters. The Democrats know that as long as they are the party of government handouts they will attract the votes of Mexican and Central American immigrants who are all-too comfortable with the trappings of socialism. The Democrats don't give a damn about the illegal immigrants; any more than they do about African-Americans. They are just looking for another permanent underclass to whom they will promise government handouts in return for votes. This is simply about political power.

BTW: Another 12-20 million ill-educated, low-skilled workers are not going to provide the tax base needed to pay for all the government services they will utilize. That fact is currently being played out in California. If anything, this will just hasten the economic collapse that is in our future. As painful and destructive as that will be, it may be the only thing that stirs America back to rational thought.............or it will be the end of the nation as we know it. Your choice.
