NY Legislature/Gov. break the law in mad rush to enact gun control measures

Playing politics with your constitutional rights. Liberal New York governor, Andrew Cuomo now claims that he didn't know what was in the anti-Second Amendment SAFE Act, which he was so eager to sign into law. Not one to let a good tragedy go to waste, Cuomo rammed the SAFE Act through the legislature, practically before the bodies of the Newtown dead were even cold. He wanted to ensure that emotion following the tragedy would trump little things like constitutionality, state law, legislative procedure, rational debate, facts, common sense and propriety. He shamefully employed 'emergency powers' to evade state law and legislative procedure in his rush to sign the bill into law. The governor willfully prevented public debate of the law and forced a vote before there was time for the bill to be examined and discussed. And what was the result? An unconstitutional law with many unintended(?) negative consequences.

Andrew Cuomo made a conscious decision to use the emotion surrounding the Sandy Hook shooting to justify ramming through this terribly flawed and unconstitutional legislation in a hurry. Now he claims that he didn't have time to read it and is blaming others, trying to distance himself from this sham. This is the act of a tyrant; a cowardly tyrant. He has infringed the constitutional rights of his citizens (I guess they are really just his subjects at this point) and then pointed the finger of blame elsewhere when problems inevitably arose.

Cuomo made a big deal of saying that the SAFE Act would not affect hunters.....as if that is what the Second Amendment is about. The founding fathers included the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights so that armed citizens could protect their rights. They created a system of government that was carefully crafted to protect individual rights. In spite of all the protections built into the Constitution, the founding fathers knew that laws could be ignored or violated by those in power. They knew that there might come a day when the government no longer concerned itself with the rights of the citizens. That is why we have the Second Amendment. The great men who wrote our constitution didn't care if you had a musket to hunt deer. They wanted armed citizens who would have the means to defend their inalienable rights against the power of a foreign invader or a government that had become tyrannical. And that is where we are right now. The government of New York has willfully and purposefully violated the rights of the people. Tens of thousands of New Yorkers, if not more, will refuse to obey this unconstitutional law. Then what will happen? Think about that for a minute. What is going to happen when the State of New York tries to remove from it's citizens their final and most important guarantor of their freedom? Do we want to head down that path?

Those who want American citizens disarmed have two options; one legal and one unconstitutional. The legal route is a new amendment to the Constitution that would outlaw the private possession of guns. What New York, Colorado, California and other states and municipalities are doing is unconstitutional. If the liberals want to get rid of guns, let them be honest about it and do it legally. They won't do that. A constitutional amendment is not easily ratified. That was the intent of the founding fathers. Anything that would infringe on the rights of our citizens should be very difficult thing to enact. Instead, the liberals will continue to do what they are comfortable with; using emotional response to tragic events to chip away at constitutional rights. While that has proven effective in the short term, it will ultimately backfire on them. Even an incremental assault on our constitutional freedoms eventually reaches a point where all will see the danger. The liberals are pushing the nation to the brink. They are the ones who will bear the blame when citizens find themselves with no other recourse but to take up arms to protect their rights. We must never allow it to come to that point. The liberals who want to ban guns must be honest about their intentions and go about it through the constitutional amendment process. Anything else is an illegal restriction of our rights and must be opposed.


NJ Legislature breaks the law to pass gun control

Tyranny is taking hold throughout our government. The blatant extra-constitutional behavior of the Obama administration sets the tone for liberal politicians across the country. They see the Obama administration violate federal law, ignore the orders of federal judges and routinely lie to the American people without any questioning from the media. They are emboldened by this cloak of protection as well as their ideology of attaining power "by any means necessary." Our founding fathers foresaw that tyranny could threaten our nation, so they made sure that the citizens would always have the means to defend their freedom. This right cannot be taken from the people and those who try will soon be made to understand the enduring wisdom of our founding fathers.


Obama lies about US guns used in Mexican killings

The Marxist-in Chief declared in Mexico that most of the guns involved in crimes in Mexico came from the US. This is a verifiable lie. As is Obama's habit, he uses a grain of truth to give credence to the bigger lie. A majority of the TRACEABLE guns used in Mexican murders come from the US. What he leaves out is that only a tiny fraction of the murders committed in Mexico involve traceable firearms. The vast majority of murders committed in Mexico involve firearms that they cannot be traced. That's because those weapons come from Central or South America and elsewhere in the international weapons black market. They also come from the Mexican police and Army; either stolen or sold. What is verifiable and traceable are the thousands of guns that the BATFE allowed to 'walk' across the border into Mexico as part of the Obama Administration's Fast and Furious operation. We know that those were involved in over two hundred murders in Mexico and the death of CBP Agent Brian Terry here in the US. The investigation into Fast and Furious has been stalled by Obama Administration stonewalling and lies; just as has the investigation into the Benghazi attacks.
Unfortunately, this has become the obvious hallmark of the Obama Administration. They ignore and obfuscate whenever they are presented with events that will show Obama in a bad light. It's bad enough that a sitting administration is so willing to lie in order to avoid bad publicity, but it is nothing compared to the danger presented to our country by a news media that has willfully chosen to side with a lawless administration. It has created a constitutional crisis not envisioned by the founding fathers. They expected that there would always be an aggressive investigative press that would provide a check to lies and malfeasance by the government. How is the electorate supposed to make informed decisions when voting if the news media has chosen to only present the administration's version of events?
