I'll just go ahead and throw this out there: conservative public figures are better people than liberals. Not in absolute individual cases, just in general. Why? Well, conservatives only get one chance to screw up, because the news media will pillory any conservative for ANY transgression (real, imagined or manufactured). The Republican party, being absolutely terrified of any bad press, will eagerly throw anybody with even a tinge of a scandal overboard. Democrats on the other hand are more than willing to look the other way, no matter how egregious the behavior.

IRS policy to punish conservative, anti-abortion and pro-Israel groups. Lie about details of terrorist attack on Benghazi consulate where US personnel were left to die with no attempt to rescue and then cover up administration efforts to obstruct justice......Full media cloak of secrecy and get re-elected president.

I could go on and on, but I've got better things to do.

Let's face it; when the supposed guardians of truth in our society are actively working to support your policies and ideology you can be pretty confident that they aren't going to sweat little things like scandals. That would tend to make people a little arrogant. That would make people who are imbued with an unearned sense of elitist privilege dangerously arrogant and willing to push the bounds of legality to achieve their ideological goals. This is the type of behavior you get in banana republics and tin horn dictatorships where the government controls the media. America should expect better from the news media. They have the protection of the First Amendment. It's time they actually live up to the obligations that go along with that freedom. Just a little objective honesty is all we ask for. That's not too much to expect.


Filner wants San Diego to pay for his sexual harassment lawsuit

I'm sure the response from women's rights/feminist organizations will be swift and justifiably outraged..........<sound of crickets> Yeah. Just as I thought. Endless manufactured outrage for the Republicans supposed war on women, just because they don't want the federal government to fund abortions. But actual conduct that is demeaning and harmful to women is ignored if it comes from the perverted mind of a good liberal. Just like Bill Clinton's behavior was accepted by all the women's rights organizations. Just like Anthony Weiner can go around texting pictures of his junk to random women is ignored. Just like Elliot Spitzer banging hookers on government time is ignored. Just like John Edwards cheating on his dying wife is ignored. Hey, let's just face it. Women's rights/feminist organizations are just liberal organizations. Just like the NAACP is just a liberal organization. Just like name your favorite victim group is a liberal organization. Liberals gain and maintain power by pitting groups against the country and the mainstream culture. Everything is about manufacturing outrage. Tell racial, gender, ethnic and cultural groups that they are victims of the establishment to break down traditional society. Liberals know that you have to pit class against class, gender against gender, and one race against another. That what Karl Marx said to do. That's how you weaken the society to enable the rise of the proletariat. All these victims groups that have been created by the identity politics of the liberals have no honor, no morals and no legitimate purpose. They are simply tools; all working to advance the cause of liberalism.

Filner resigns in exchange for City absorbing some of the cost of the inevitable sexual harassment lawsuits

The California Democrat Party knew that Filner was a serial groper well before the election. Did that bother them? No, not really. Winning the mayoral race evidently trumped little sh!t like morality and fifty years of supposedly supporting feminist causes. The Democrats won the election and now the city of San Diego is going to pay the price. The taxpayers of San Diego are going to have to pay at least some of the inevitable litigation costs brought about by Filner's wandering hands. And now that it is known the city will be footing the bill, every aspiring Gloria Allred will be trolling for any woman who was ever in the same room with Filner. The money will flow from the juries, San Diego will be deeper in debt and Filner will walk away with his hefty congressional pension.
I think politicians were a little less brazen in the practice of their immorality and corruption when there was a credible threat of being tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.
