Why must we repeat the failures of Socialist Europe. Socialism has failed everywhere it has been implemented. It's kind of stupid to do what hasn't worked anywhere else. You would know that if it weren't for a news media that has decided it will not be the vital questioning voice that challenges the government, but instead a willing propaganda tool for the Democrat party. They have lied to the American public at every stage in this process. You will suffer because of their lies. You will get substandard service that will cost you an exorbitant price and there will be no private alternative (unless you are independently wealthy-not likely in the Obama economy). When socialized medicine fails you and you loose a family member to an uncaring bureaucratic leviathan, remember who caused this.....the Democrats and their allies in the news media.

So you really think government-controlled healthcare is a good idea? Government is inefficient. There is not one thing that government can do more efficiently than private enterprise. Government controls costs by rationing services, arbitrary price controls and the old favorite of unfunded mandates. You will never get better care from government-run healthcare. We HAD one of the finest healthcare systems in the world......before government intervention. Forty years of liberal legislation, regulation and interference that was supposed to lower costs and provide better treatment for more people did the exact opposite. As always happens when the government interferes with the free market, there are unintended and negative consequences. So how should we solve this government-created healthcare crisis? More government control. That's always the liberal answer. Interfere with the free market, cause higher prices and reduced service, blame the industry that was over-regulated and then add more laws and regulations. If that all seems stupid and counterproductive, it is. Healthcare will not be better when controlled by the government......it will just be controlled by the government. That's not good for you, the patient, but it sure is good for the political party whose power is derived from people dependent on the government.
