Picking at the scabs of slavery and racism

I know that facts, historical accuracy, logic and common sense are hard for liberals, but.....jeeeez.  I mean Oprah was only off by a couple orders of magnitude.  

Oprah's figures on lynchings were just a little off

Nothing like injecting fact and reason into the currently heated racial atmosphere. Just off by a couple orders of magnitude.....that's all. Did Oprah mention that it was white Democrats who started the Klan and who lynched black and white Republicans? Yeah, the Democrats have a somewhat selective memory when it comes to that whole slavery, lynching, segregation aspect of their history. Democrats fought to maintain slavery. The Republican Party was created to destroy slavery. The Ku Klux Klan was formed as the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party in the post-Civil War South. Democrat president Woodrow Wilson frequently screened the Klan recruiting film Birth of a Nation in the White House, Southern Democrats were solely responsible for the Jim Crow laws. Democrats were responsible for segregation. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 would not have passed were it not for overwhelming Republican support in the Senate. It was opposed by such Democrat notables as Sam Ervin, Al Gore Sr. and KKK member Robert Byrd. Oh yeah, that Robert Byrd. The lion of the Senate; Robert Byrd. The man whose funeral was attended by nearly all Democrat luminaries, including Bill Clinton, who gave the eulogy. As he praised the spirit and legacy of Byrd, Clinton kind of glossed over the fact that Byrd was a member of the Klan for over 40 years and rose to the rank of Exulted Cyclops. Maybe that little fact didn't bother Clinton that much. After all, on of Bill Clinton's mentors was noted segregationist Arkansas Senator J. William Fulbright. I guess, given their rather sordid past history of racism, Democrats would rather just create their own history out of whole cloth.


A rodeo clown is raaaaaacist?

So a rodeo clown is RACIST!!!!! but this isn't? My head hurts. Trying to figure out liberals is a lost cause. Don't expect any sort of standards or consistent positions. They respond emotionally to every situation in the way that will be most advantageous for them at that particular moment in time. And the perpetual outrage.....well that's just how they get their way. Just like a spoiled child that throws a tantrum to get his way. Since they don't have logic or facts on their side they have to go for the cheap victory. Claim to be a 'victim' or to be offended by the outrageous treatment of a 'victim' and you don't have to worry about facts or reason.
