When the myth of global warming affects our defense policy it becomes a threat to national security
PACOM thinks climate changes is our greatest threat to national securityThe politicization of our military is getting out of control. We are down to only 10 operational aircraft carriers, Obama's defense cuts are going to gut our operational capability, China is rapidly developing a large, modern blue water naval capability and advanced air force and is trying to exert it's influence throughout the Western Pacific. With all that going on, PACOM thinks that our biggest concern is global warming. ADM Locklear is a graduate of the Naval Academy, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the George Washington University, yet he thinks that the myth of global warming is a more pressing concern than China. Could he actually be that stupid or is this just another example of a careerist flag officer dancing to the tune of his political bosses? I don't hold out much hope for our military if this type of stupidity/pandering becomes commonplace. I was only a Chief Petty Officer, but I'm smart enough to know that, at a time when operating budgets are being slashed, paying for biofuels which cost four times more than standard fuels will drastically cut down on the amount of training and operations you can conduct. Now if the Earth was actually getting hotter and it could actually be proven that it was caused by human activity, I might say that the additional cost could possibly be worth the reduced force readiness levels. But since the Earth has not gotten hotter and there is no credible evidence that human activity has had any impact on the climate, I would say that it is reckless and stupid. There is ample evidence that leading anthropogenic global warming alarmists falsified data, used deliberately deceptive computer models and destroyed evidence of their malfeasance. There is also ample evidence that the Earth has not warmed at all over the last decade. So why are we handicapping our economy in the name of reducing carbon emissions? Why are we reducing our military readiness at a time when there are so many threats? Well, belief in anthropogenic global warming is part of the orthodoxy in the Church of Liberalism, so you better not question it. Just go along, say the right things and don't make waves. Sad. I grew up reading about the great admirals, like Nimitz, Halsey, Mitscher and Burke. They were warriors, not self-serving politicians in uniform. That warrior ethic is rapidly being excised from our military.
