It's a good thing we have a competent administration that fully understands the complex military, political, religious and economic issues at play in the Muslim world. Wait!....ahhh...What just happened in Libya?
Theft of weapons from training camp in Libya
These are the same folks who are providing weapons to the rebels in Syria and wanted us to join the fighting on their side. It's OK, only about half of them are allied with al Qaeda. Shouldn't be a problem.
I'm not positive, but I'm going to take a guess on how this played out. Not wanting to offend the Libyans, the Obama Administration agreed to host nation security for our training camps. Every night our troops head off-site back to their housing; leaving poorly paid guards of suspect allegiance watching our stuff. Just like with the Benghazi consulate, the guards probably recon'd the compound before tipping off the Islamist militants who stole the equipment.
Just another case of idealistic amateurs getting schooled by reality. "Gee, it sounded like a good plan when we were discussing it in the staff lounge at Harvard." It would be so damned infuriating if they didn't keep making the same mistakes over and over.
