After passing through the filter of the mainstream media, the news is often inaccurate and misleading. Even though the mainstream news media consistently fails to live up to its ethical standards, you can always count on them for some comedic relief.
On the Asiana crash at SFOThe news media consists of total idiots. I cannot believe the absolute buffoonery and ignorance of these people 'reporting' on the Asiana 777 crash at SFO. One look at the scene tells me that it touched down short and lost its empennage in a tail strike on the safety area at the end of the runway. These media talking heads are looking at the exact same footage and are just blindly guessing and basically talking out of their collective asses. they can't differentiate between a fuel tank fire and in internal fire. They can't even look at a perfectly clear image and make out evacuation slides. And they show passengers lined up to board buses and and claim they are treating injuries. What do these fools look at while they are running their mouths?

In addition to being pretty funny, this just reaffirms my very low opinion of the American news media. I mean, seriously.......the names of the flight crew have been out there since about 18 hours after the crash. And how is it that a news station in the Bay Area, which has quite a large Asian-American population, not recognize that these aren't even Korean names. Everybody from the writer to the ND to the anchor should offer an on-air apology for their stupidity. Yeah, but that won't happen, now will it? The news media never really apologizes for their mistakes, let alone the routine acts of journalistic malpractice. They will plaster incorrect, misleading or defamatory headlines all over the front page for days and when the truth finally comes out they will put a one-column-inch retraction on page A-32. The damage is irreparable, but they will claim that they made everything right with their retraction. They are nothing but loathsome vermin.
