Nancy Pelosi says that we have cut the federal budget to the bone and there are no more cuts that can be made. I'm thinkin' there might be a little fat left to cut.

Wow! They really set the bar pretty high. States and the federal government are advertising SNAP. If they have to advertise to get people to use food stamps then the system is already fundamentally flawed and corrupted. They are basically starting with an arbitrary figure and, when they can't get enough people to use the program, they advertise to make sure that all the money is spent. And because of baseline budgeting, the budget for the program goes up every year. We aren't taking care of the 'most needy' in our society. This is just a poorly disguised welfare program. There is no incentive to get people off the program. Quite the opposite is true. They are actively advertising for more users. Hell, the federal government is advertising in Mexico to let illegal immigrants know how to access the program. Let's be honest about what SNAP is; a program to incentivize dependence on the government.
