Yippee! Free lunch for everybody

There is no such thing as a free lunch

Obama achieves another dubious record

MAR13
One in three school kids get free government lunches. Are one third of all households living in poverty? NO. Government assistance is supposed to be an exception; not the rule. It is supposed to be a temporary safety net for the most needy and vulnerable; not a giant comfy hammock for extended lounging. Are you telling me that one third of all parents have so little money that they cannot provide the most basic of needs for their children. I don't think so. America's poor live like kings compared to a significant portion of the Earth's population. Liberals have purposefully expanded the welfare state to include as many as possible. The need for government assistance has not increased; the bar has just been lowered to get more people on it. Citizens who receive handouts from the government will always vote for the party that promises to continue the handouts. The Democrats know this. Hell, it has been their driving philosophy for 80 years now.

Someone once said "The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money."

Today, 47% of the population pays no federal income tax. Today, we have 46 million people (15% of the population) on food stamps. Today, nearly half of all Americans receive some sort of government assistance. Perhaps today is that day.

The monument to the Cloward-Piven strategy
