Every time the government interjects itself into the marketplace somebody is going to lose some money
American Spectator - Assault and GM's $30,000 battery
No matter the reason, good intentions or bad, the intrusion of the government distorts the market and costs some or all parties money and often a level of freedom. It is for this reason that every law, regulation and policy must be carefully scrutinized to determine the economic impact that is sure to occur. The cost must be objectively and dispassionately weighed against the benefit. In other words; adult, mature decision-making. The Democrats have shown themselves to be incapable of making any sort of objective analysis of the impact of their decisions. They are driven by emotion and a blind, ersatz religious faith that whatever they do is the morally superior action and therefore, any questioning of motive or result is not worthy of discussion. For all intents and purposes we are being governed by teenagers. They lack the experience, wisdom and maturity to make sound judgments; instead, the act only in emotional self-interest.
